Women’s Missionary Society
Aenon Baptist WMS has glorified God for over a century by providing for many missionary needs. Established in 1898 with eight members (Blanche Oxner, first president and Mrs. Elias Hatt, first secretary/treasurer), our WMS has adopted the following mission statement: We seek as Christian women to be led by the Holy Spirit to be faithful to the Scriptures, to be dependent on prayer, to be diligent in witness—thus fulfilling the mission as commanded by Christ in Acts 1:8. In 2006, we have contributed to Operation Christmas Child, The Sharing Way water project, sent socks, mitts and scarves to the local Food Bank, provided supplies for the Metro Pregnancy Centre as well as sibling and newborn layettes for South Shore Regional Hospital. We have also participated in Baptist Women’s Day of Prayer and World Day of Prayer as well as helped coordinate the Christmas Eve Service at Aenon.
We cordially invite ladies to join with us at Aenon for our monthly meetings held the first Tuesday after the first Sunday of each month at 7 p.m. in the library. For more information, please call Mary Eldridge, current president, at 275-4321. Keep up with missionary news:
